description of the German Shepherd:
The German shepherd knows wrong from right and well trained is
the best companion you could ever have. With direct and fearless
expression, never appearing hostile but at the same time self
confident and ready to guard their grounds. Traits that together
with tracking, agility and obedience gives the German shepherd
the right temperament.
In their physical description, the ideal GSD is lively and
alert; his body well muscled, agile and powerful. An all
together, a well balanced dog.
Regarding the coat and colors, they have a rich double coat of
medium length with a dense gray undercoat. They vary in colors
but the rich ones are preferred.
In conformation the GSD is elegant with flowing lines, glamorous
with shinning coat, erected ears with an expression that will
command attention.

What is Schutzhund?
It means “protection dog”. Making the GSD a more useful and
happier companion to their owners. It is intended to demonstrate
the dog’s intelligence and utility. It measures their mental
stability, endurance, structural efficiency, ability to scent,
willingness to work, courage and tranquility.
The tracking phase is intended to test the dog’s trainability
and ability to scent as well as its mental and physical
endurance.
The obedience phase is to test the dogs temperament, structural
efficiencies and very important its willingness to serve its
owners.
The protection phase tests the dog’s courage, physical strength
and agility. The handler’s control of the dogs is essential. It
is also intended to assure that the dog possesses the proper
temperament for breeding.
